So WERE ENAGAGED, YAY! And then the excitement fades and you realize the list of 1000+ things you now have to accomplish before you make the biggest/best commitment of your life. Naturally the photographer in me immediately started with our engagement shoot. I knew I wanted to create images that showed an intimate side to Kevins and mines relationship. 90% of the time we are out on the town networking and working hard but then there is that 10% of the time where we are at home, burnt out on the couch catching up on our shows and each others week. Our place is a constant landing zone for a tornado of laundry so shooting in an airbnb home seemed like the most logical spot for us. I already had our friends spot in mind as it offered a clean large space and lots of lighting. I've listed below a couple things to make any engagement shoot extra special.
1 | Personal touches are key. We brought objects from our home that are a part of our daily morning routines; chemex, books, record player and vinyls. We always have fresh flowers in our place so I reached out to our friend at to make a beautiful arrangement we could use in our shots.
2 | Pick a place you are comfortable at. We have stayed and hung out at our friends airbnb multiple times so we know the spot well and knew what to expect décor wise.
3 | Talk with your photographer before. Let them know a little bit about you as a couple, what your personalities are like, do you like being photographed, the style of photos you want to take and have you worked with a photographer before.
4 | Wear your favorite outfit. I didn't buy anything special for this shoot, I wore two outfits I am most comfortable in and I know look good in photos.
5 | Put your favorite music on, loosen up! this is meant to be fun and a special day for you two.
We cant thank our photographer Sheri enough for helping capture exactly what we wanted to share with friends and family.
