Around Town with SEEN Mag

Last month Neighborhood SEEN Magazine invited me to cruise around the streets of Detroit, stopping by some of my favorite spots. Check out the video below and the write ups on my must haves at each location. Enjoy checking out my favorite Saturday spots around Detroit!

Ashe Supply Co. | Their Mission is simple; passionately producing a quality product. You will be instantly drawn into this coffee house for its laid back vibe and warm smell of freshly roasted beans. Before you know it you'll consider the owner AJ a friend, set up a make shift office and be known to the world as a "coffee snob." Mix it up by trying one of my favorites: an Iced Café Miel, Matcha Latte, Ethiopian pour over, or a Peanut butter paprika sister pie cookie (not all at once). PS- they have a great patio where you can soak up some lunch time sunshine. (1555 Broadway St, Detroit, MI 48226)

Made Floral | One thing that always brings a smile to my face is fresh blooms, I try to keep my apartment stocked with a fresh bouquet once a week. Theres something extra special about having Martha make you a personal bouquet. Let her take creative control on the flower choices, she's the professional for a reason. (441 W Canfield St, Detroit, MI 48201)

Grey Ghost | A new addition to the city for more than just dinner, Grey Ghost is just as busy at 7pm as it is at 12am. They have classic cocktails with a unusual twist, an ever updating contemporary menu, and dark wood tables amidst low lighting, creating a warm and welcoming ambiance. Cocktail favorites right now are "One In The Chamber" and "G&T" (they make a mean one). Eats: Smoked whitefish appetizer, Burger + fries with fancy sauce, and basically anything and everything on their brunch menu. (47 Watson St, Detroit, MI 48201)

The Royce | Go for the wine but stay for the charcuterie and bumpin' jams. On Wine Wednesdays the Royce has free wine tastings and on Sundays they have live music. When ordering always get a bottle because if you don't finish it you can take it to go. Try to ask for a recommendation or if theres anything new in; I've never had something I didn't like. If you are hungry their charcuterie can always be substituted as a dinner. I'm a sucker for the olives and manchego cheese. (Kales Building, 76 W Adams Ave, Detroit, MI 48226)

Happy Strolling!
